[Day 9 - Late Afternoon] Just One More Thing (New Angeles Plaza)

After the whole Perez murder internal cover-up just because his Captain wanted to look good and collaborated with the surviving family for a rapid cashout, Trevor found himself requesting a transfer from Laguna Velasco to somewhere else. He didn't expect that he would be sent off Earth to Luna! Granted, several officers would serve this post at some point in their lives.

He felt there was a case of deja vu as he stood around the lobby, waiting to attend to a request he got.

"Lieutenant...Williams, was it?"
A nondescript woman appeared at his elbow.

Trevor raised his brows at the woman who approached him, perhaps not knowing who to expect exactly when it came to this particular tip. "That's correct. Miss...? Well, you're asking a lot of questions about some interesting places. At this rate, you'd think that the NAPD might start looking bad for not asking the same questions."

Trevor raised his brows at the woman who approached him, perhaps not knowing who to expect exactly when it came to this particular tip. "That's correct. Miss...? Well, you're asking a lot of questions about some interesting places. At this rate, you'd think that the NAPD might start looking bad for not asking the same questions."

"Doe, Jane Doe."
She extends a long fingered hand
"As for the NAPD, well. There are still a few officers who like catching perps and keeping honest folk safe, even if they wind up on Luna for their trouble."

Trevor shakes the offered hand easily enough, although at the mention of officers who end on Luna did manage to get a small shrug from him. "Well, I guess if they figured that if we have the energy to want to do the right thing then we have the energy to help out at probably one of the toughest posts in New Angeles. Mind you, it's nothing like some tough blocks in Guayaquil...but there are obviously some challenges unlike elsewhere..."

"Anyway, you've been asking about some Martian terrorists? It turns out that we might have something after all. They didn't exactly just fly in strapped to a meteor but actually landed on Luna first." He said before bring up his PAD and projecting a freighter ship by the name of The Pandora, as well as their landing schedule on display.

"Good find Lieutenant. Do we know who was running the ship?"

"It's their ship, or at least one from Mars. We don't exactly have access to the records to the registry over there, completely out of my jurisdiction but I can say for sure that it doesn't match anything we have on Earth. However, I can say that they've made a landing here some time ago over at the starport for refuelling. I guess at the time it didn't register with us that they were actually a Crimson Dust terrorist band or cell. It only stayed long enough for that. Found some footage matching some faces, they definitely stepped off, probably found a charter flight to Earth...using spoofed IDs. As for the Pandora, it left the starport then..."

For dramatic effect, the holoprojection faded out and vanished. "Poof, seemingly disappeared into thin air. Never made it to Earth with the same registry at least."

[Lina (NAG Mk3-19)]

Nineteen was walking through the New Angeles Plaza, coming from some asking around and official business, when she saw Jane, in the attire they'd first met her, talking to ...Lieutenant Trevor?

That was an odd meeting, but one that immediately reminded them that the business with Richardo Perez had not been fully resolved.

Or .. was it?

The bioroid slowly walked closer. They didn't try to hide their interest in the matter, but they didn't interrupt them. Trevor was talking about... The Crimson Dust terrorist group? Was that related to them, then?

Trevor would offer a glance at Lina for a moment, now he was for sure having deja vu. He gave a formal nod at the bioroids directly. "Good..." He said with a glance at the twenty-four-hour clock somewhere, not that it actually followed the orbit of Luna and everything went on Earth time. "...Afternoon, Angelina. We're just going through small things here, small details about surveillance."

Trevor would offer a glance at Lina for a moment, now he was for sure having deja vu. He gave a formal nod at the bioroids directly. "Good..." He said with a glance at the twenty-four-hour clock somewhere, not that it actually followed the orbit of Luna and everything went on Earth time. "...Afternoon, Angelina. We're just going through small things here, small details about surveillance."

The bioroid nodded at the Lieutenant. "Miss Jane", they say leaning their head towards the woman "had been interested in these surveillance failures we'd discussed. I..." they pause for a moment. "It seems like some issues behind them have been figured out, then?"

[Jane Doe]

Jane smiles
"Lina! Fancy seeing you here. My lucky day to have another crimefighter assisting with the case. As the Lieutenant says, he was just assisting with the case of dear Perez. It sounds like the ship that ferried his attackers to Luna might have undergone a little registry switching, which I would call a lead."

"It could be a matter of registry switching, as I suspected. Once it leaves Luna, there are many other avenues that it could go. The Heinlein Authority in space isn't exactly perfect but I think they would have a good read of anything heading toward Earth. Apparently, they came up with zip on the Pandora or any Martian ship that resembles its make. Potentially, it could be flying around with a whole new facelift or potentially never really left Luna thereafter." He gave a shake of his head at that.

"It could be a matter of registry switching, as I suspected. Once it leaves Luna, there are many other avenues that it could go. The Heinlein Authority in space isn't exactly perfect but I think they would have a good read of anything heading toward Earth. Apparently, they came up with zip on the Pandora or any Martian ship that resembles its make. Potentially, it could be flying around with a whole new facelift or potentially never really left Luna thereafter." He gave a shake of his head at that.

"Hmmm. What's your professional opinion on that? Facelifts, good ones, take time. You have to hack the registry or slip some credits into the right hands, need to either find new crew or take care of the old ones....Have to be a quick turnaround. Could be it's still somewhere in port going through it all."

Trevor admittedly looked a bit doubtful at the question with a shrug of his shoulders. "I can't say I've ever studied up to be a shipwright, a space shipwright. Not my area of expertise. I'm only going with what I've heard in my time on the force, things that bandits do when it comes to floating in orbit around Earth. But I'd say the chances are pretty good that if it didn't vaporize or was taken apart, it would still be in Heinlein somewhere. On Luna, at least."

Trevor admittedly looked a bit doubtful at the question with a shrug of his shoulders. "I can't say I've ever studied up to be a shipwright, a space shipwright. Not my area of expertise. I'm only going with what I've heard in my time on the force, things that bandits do when it comes to floating in orbit around Earth. But I'd say the chances are pretty good that if it didn't vaporize or was taken apart, it would still be in Heinlein somewhere. On Luna, at least."

"Perfect, let's go find it."

"You might make Captain."

Trever admittedly let out a chuckle at that with a shake of his head. "Oh, hell no. It's not exactly how it works around here, at least that's what they keep telling me. Maybe I'll get a plaque or something for my trouble, maybe a pat on the back. Well, the trail on this case might have done cold already but better follow up on it now than never."

Sorry, took a while to get back here and read thorough it. Could Lina provide help granting Jane another boost instead? She sucks bad at Streetwise, so while I could roll it'd not be particularly fruitful XD
