New Angeles is greeted by a return of clouds in the morning but quickly darkening to a gloomy overcast. Despite the clouds, the heat persists in this humidity, making the streets feel rather muggy. There are many expectations that the rain will follow with the clouds but they only linger ominously overhead with some scattered showers. However, heavy rain finally descends down on the city late afternoon and persists right into the early morning. Flooding is reported in some parts of the city in the lower levels.

"The Beanstalk has provided the world with an easy means of transporting and receiving goods from space for decades but is it enough? The Space Elevator Authority reports that at least a few hundred warehouses in Chakana are still awaiting transport upstalk. They are being held up for various reasons, including customs, administrative red tape or merely because of being considered lower priority. Companies have reported losing millions of credits in profits due to these delays and security. The mayor's office has not cared to comment at this time."
"When it comes to dealing with the reality of this backlog, many are considering using freighters and cargo ships. Despite cutthroat undercutting in that industry, costs are still high. The growing presence of 'pirates' and the varying standards of practices also make the method difficult to rely on, no matter how much money might be sunk into it. This is why many are looking forward to the completion of the second space elevator in Kampala which is slated to be completed by the end of the decade. "Ever since Alice Delgado took office as Mayor of New Angeles, her sweeping reforms in the New Angeles Police Department have been tough on crime. The results are pretty clear to the public as the most recent city report has shown that crime rates are down in all city districts, and this includes Guayaquil. That's good news for everyone, right?" He smiled sardonically before frowning.
"Wrong. Of course, the mayor's office will fail to overlook the fact that organized crime is on the rise around the city and also the violent crime rate with it. The escalation of the police has only caused elements of organized crime to do the same, gang wars have broken out and the public is going to suffer the collateral. "The New Angeles Expo is open today to the public and I'm very excited to be here! There are so many things to see and do. The newest tech is unveiled here for the first time! Betty waved her arm out in a grand gesture as the camera drone zoomed out to show her carrying a teacup giraffe with her other arm, the Jinteki expo booths are easily seen in the background with some clones standing around to greet attendees.
"I'm just hanging out here with my newest and cutest friend, Bubbles," she said as she presented her companion proudly as Bubbles looked back with apparent curiosity in his eyes. "What I'm told is that you, that's right, YOU can win a pet like Bubbles just by showing up at the Jinteki Pet Workshop. They're doing a draw every day for one lucky winner as long as the New Angeles Expo is open. Of course, that's not the only thing you can do here and if you follow me, I'll be happy to show you some of the many things you can do here! Come on, Bubbles, let's check this Expo out!"
The camera drone zoomed further out to show a Jinteki employee eyeing Betty carefully as if expecting her to return Bubbles. Betty smiled shyly back as she held onto Bubbles more possessively. "...Are you sure I can't keep him?"
