When colonization began on Luna with Tranquility Home, there was a contingent of Japanese immigrants who among them was a rich philanthropist who was very in love with the famous Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. While Tranquility Home fulfilled the opportunity of living on Luna long-term, it didn't quite meet the expectation of the philanthropist, Tsukiko Takeuchi. She set off to have her own dome settlement built and several investors of similar minds quickly rallied behind her grand vision to have Tsuki-no-Miyako realized.

Tsuki-no-Miyako today is also known as the Capital of the Moon. The small dome settlement is a short maglev train ride away from Tranquility Home. Visitors who enter the main entrance are immediately greeted by a lush bamboo grove with a path leading into a traditional garden that takes up most of the surface of the dome. This great feat is made possible by heavy cooperation with Jinteki, who have engineered the fauna here to be resistant to long-term radiation exposure. A traditional Shinto shrine could be found here, although it mostly serves as a tourist attraction and occasionally a cultural centre where the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter is retold through holographic treedees.

There are a few occasional high-concept townhomes that blend seamlessly with the garden, only afforded by the most wealthy risties, but most of the inhabitants live underground. Most of the original Japanese immigrants had moved to Tsuki-no-Miyako and many Jinteki employees see the appeal of living there, even if an extra commute is needed to get to the company office found in a separate settlement.

Sushi-Tron
Sushi-Tron is a restaurant found on the first sub-level of the settlement, catching the attention of passersby with its flashy neon lighting and a long-spanning conveyor belt of sushi. Customers seated by the conveyor belt are free to pick and choose from its long menu of offerings, all charges are immediately added to their bill. The owner, Alexei Kuznetsov, is barely there and has only bioroid on staff. They keep the restaurant in pristine condition and are quick to immediately restock any missing items. The sushi here is understandably not great but still passible for the tourists who made up almost all of their customers.

Jones Bar
Jones bar is a dimly-lit izakaya where many of the locals gather for a quick drink after their shifts. The bar is cramped and space is a commodity, often customers are seated shoulder to shoulder. Booth seating is often quickly scooped up by groups and many wait in line for an opening or make concessions to share one together. There is an impressive tap of beers available, mostly brands found in Europe and Asia, and there is also a tiny kitchen in the back. During 'evening' hours, the tiny backrooms are open for karaoke and often customers hear the songs blaring through the walls.

Samurai Gym and Dojo
The fitness centre is headed by Florence Suzuki and frequented by many locals on Heinlein, making it popular at all hours of the day. The gym and dojo facilities are fully modern, although a bit compact compared to Earth standards as they made do with their modest amount of space. As a result, there is often high demand for each piece of equipment and each visitor is allocated a strict amount of time to maximize efficiency. Exercise does take a different spin on Luna, requiring a greater amount of resistance to equal the same workout on Earth. Many Loonies turn to G-Mods or cybernetics to give them that edge but the trainers found here provide advice on sound alternatives in lieu of those enhancements.
